Assessment |
|
Reports are compiled for each student at the end of the first term, second term and at the end of the academic year on completion of annual examination, and sent to the parents
Internal marks are based on inputs from each teacher who interacts with the student. These in turn are based on cumulative records kept by the teacher over the course of the term. As such, they reflect the performance of the student over a significant length of time, and give a clear picture of his or her progress. All reports are primarily addressed to the parents.
Continuous assessment aligned to the learning outcomes will be done through projects, assignments, class tests, group activities, self-reflection sessions and study tours (excursions), and ensures that students will be ready to face the Board Examination at the end of Standard 10 and 12.
Our views on Assessment
Assessment is much more than assigning grades to students. It is a mechanism for guiding and motivating students to be actively involved in their own learning. Essential information about our students learning progress and about the extent to which we are meeting our teaching goals is given by Assessment procedures. Entire teaching staff keeps track of this important aspect.
Assessment helps students "become more effective, self-assessing, self-directed learners and provides important feedback to both teachers and students".
